Task 2 là phần quan trọng hơn — chiếm ⅔ số điểm Writing. Bạn cần viết một bài luận học thuật tối thiểu 250 từ trong 40 phút. Có 5 dạng đề chính: Opinion (Agree/Disagree), Discussion (Both views), Advantages & Disadvantages, Problem & Solution, Two-part question.
Quy tắc vàng band 7.0+: trả lời hết câu hỏi, có lập trường rõ ràng từ đầu, mỗi đoạn body có 1 ý chính + ví dụ cụ thể, dùng cohesive devices đa dạng, và có ít nhất 4-5 câu phức (complex sentences) không lỗi.
ĐOẠN 1 — Introduction (2-3 câu, ~40-50 từ)
1. Paraphrase câu hỏi (đổi từ đồng nghĩa, đổi cấu trúc).
2. Thesis statement — nêu rõ quan điểm hoặc nói bạn sẽ bàn luận điều gì.
Ví dụ: "It is often argued that smartphones have weakened personal relationships, while others maintain that technology has strengthened human connection. In my view, although digital tools have drawbacks, their benefits for communication clearly outweigh the disadvantages."
ĐOẠN 2 — Body 1 (4-5 câu, ~90-110 từ)
1. Topic sentence — nêu ý chính (ví dụ: quan điểm thứ nhất).
2. Explanation — giải thích vì sao.
3. Example — ví dụ cụ thể (số liệu, nghiên cứu, trải nghiệm).
4. Linking sentence — kết nối sang đoạn sau.
ĐOẠN 3 — Body 2 (4-5 câu, ~90-110 từ)
Cấu trúc giống Body 1 nhưng bàn quan điểm/lý do thứ hai. Lưu ý: với đề Discussion, đây là quan điểm đối lập. Với đề Opinion, đây là lý do hỗ trợ thứ hai.
ĐOẠN 4 — Conclusion (2-3 câu, ~30-40 từ)
1. Tóm tắt 2 ý body (KHÔNG copy lại nguyên văn).
2. Nhắc lại lập trường rõ ràng.
3. (Tuỳ chọn) đưa khuyến nghị hoặc dự đoán.
